Jennifer is the founder and owner of Jennifer’s Hamam a company known around the world for its handwoven Turkish towels and commitment to preserving traditional weaving techniques. Her journey into the world of authentic Turkish handicrafts began during her first business venture - a cafe and art gallery. Through that experience, she developed a deep appreciation for Turkish craftsmanship, connecting with trusted vendors of ceramics, carpets, and leather goods, and recommending them to her clients.
But when asked about handmade Turkish towels and pestamel, she realized she had no answer. The question lingered: why was no one offering these traditional bath textiles anymore? That small spark sat quietly in the back of her mind—until June 2009, when she sold her first business. A colleague mentioned a shop for sale in the Arasta Bazaar, and Jennifer knew she had to act quickly. She secured the space… but had nothing to fill it with.
Determined, she set out across the Turkish countryside to find traditional weavers. Her first stops were the cities historically tied to Ottoman-era weaving—Bursa and Denizli—but both had long since transitioned to factory production. Undeterred, Jennifer drove through villages, drank countless glasses of tea, and asked everyone she met for leads.
After six days, she finally found a single weaver still using an old-style shuttled loom. That discovery led to eight more artisans—each on the brink of giving up. One meeting changed everything: Jennifer met the last weaver practicing the famous “looping” technique—an Ottoman invention that gave birth to the original Turkish towel. She found him just ten days before he was set to sell his looms for scrap. Without that moment, the technique would have disappeared forever.
Jennifer’s Hamam opened on August 1st, 2009. What began as a plan to sell beautiful textiles quickly transformed into a mission to preserve a dying art. While she admits she knew little about textiles when she started, Jennifer credits her weavers—along with years of collaboration (and even more tea)—for teaching her everything she knows.
Her passion goes beyond tradition. She believes a sustainable future depends on reducing our carbon footprint by choosing durable, high-quality goods that don’t end up in landfills.
“We were so fortunate to find these artisans before the entire weaving culture was lost. But the real credit belongs to our clients—without their support over the last 16 years, weaving would have disappeared completely.”
Inspired by music, art, and travel, Jennifer’s designs are filled with soul. Her collections offer something for every taste—soft neutrals, vibrant rainbows, or bold patterns. Every limited-edition piece carries the story of centuries-old craftsmanship, modern creativity, and Jennifer’s unwavering commitment to sustainability.
“The hardest part is choosing.”
Most clients agree—one visit is never enough. And for years to come, the timeless quality of these handmade pieces will remind you of Jennifer and her weavers, again and again.
To everyone who’s been part of this journey,
When I started Jennifer’s Hamam, I had no idea where it would lead. What began as a simple desire to find beautiful, authentic Turkish textiles turned into a life-changing mission to preserve a dying art.

I’m endlessly grateful to my weavers, who have shared their knowledge, passion, and countless glasses of tea with me over the years. But most of all, I’m grateful to you.
